Hello. This is Sarah. And this is Scott. We are a young married (with young kids) couple. This blog follows our our second home. Our house is 100 years old. Wow. 100 years. It’s fun to think about the history of our home. I can’t wait to go to the local historical library and dig up some dirt on our home. We just relocated from (big city) Atlanta to (small city) Cleveland…not Ohio, but Tennessee. Upon buying this house, Sarah had lived in Atlanta for seven years and Scott for almost twenty years. So what made us move? Family. We chose Cleveland to be near Sarah’s family. The house we purchased in the Historic District had amazing potential. We fell in love as soon as we saw it...especially when we walked upstairs to 1500 square feet of unfinished attic space! The only problem was that it definitely needed to be remodeled. It needed a lot of work!
Both of us have always wanted to make a house the exact way we wanted it (we are full of opinions and ideas!). So with much enthusiasm, we embarked on making plans for a major renovation. It took us about 9 months after purchasing the home to get everything in order to move. Now that we are here, the journey has begun.
Scott renovated our last home’s basement, but we knew that this job was too big for him (especially since Baby #2 would be on the way). We enlisted the help of our contractor, Mark Beaty, to do the dirty work.
We wanted to create a space to share in the excitement of renovating a historic home. We're so glad that you found us! Join us on this adventure!
