150,000 Gallons of water later...whoops!
Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 05:05PM So we knew that we had a wet basement when we purchased the house. We understood that it would be a major issue that needed to be addressed. We figured that most of the water was coming in when it rained through a hole in the basment door. Mark started noticing that even if it did not rain for a few days the sump pump that drains the basement would run every 15min or so. So he worked on the problem. We started getting worried that we had a water line break somewhere. It turns out we didn't but our neighbors did. So in the end this is one $$ fix that we don't have to address! The basment is dry , clean, and looks completely different. The city said that the water break lost 150,000 thousand gallons of water in which a bunch flowed through the "Bragg Basement River." (FYI a 15'x20' pool that is 5' deep is 11,220 gallons of water.)
