North Ocoee

Things are coming along we are getting close to be finished. The upstairs has been painted and trim work is done. Tile is about halfway done in the girls and guest bath. All the lights in the house are ready for install and we will start installing the kitchen next week. The hardwood floors are in and smell great! The master bath shower is very close and we think it looks AWESOME! The master bathroom is our favorite part of the whole house and we went all out in it. We cant wait to show off the final bathroom.

Our house was made in 1920. It has had about 3 different renovations since then. Our contractor Mark tells me the previous renovations were "jack-legged". Which I guess is bad. Here are some of the before pictures. I wish we could have captured the smell as well because it half the experience. FYI some pictures were taken while we had renters.

After the first day of demolition we went to Florida for a week for some beach time. When we came back this is what we found. Great progress already.

We are moving along pretty good. Most of the demo is complete. The 2nd ceilings, some of the plaster, a few walls, and windows are all that's left. We can see through that house from every angle. It is really starting to get exciting now.

The house is almost completely gutted! We are about 6 dumpsters through with only a little major demo left. We have found a lot of surprises along the way so far. Like a letter from the United States Senator of TN 1906 to the original home owner.

Demolition is completed! It took 6 full dumpsters to get everything out. Big 22x8x6' dumpsters. It filled up quickly after the 2 ceilings multiple layers of drywall, wallboard, wallpaper, and of course all the awful plaster. I was told the plaster was messy but I did not realize it would turn EVERYTHING solid black! So Messy! On the the next steps beef up the foundation and framing.

Most of the real impressive visual modifications are over. They crew is currently working on fixing rotten flooring, foundation, and walls. They have removed the chimney and stairs. They have also leveled the floors to get ready for major framing and the addition.

Framing on the first floor is almost complete. We will be moving to the big addition on the back of the house. Lots of new walls and rooms have been framed. Master bath, master closets, half bath, laundry room, hall closet, pantry, and basement stairs have been framed this week.

Addition, Roof, 1st floor framing, and 2nd floor framing all done! We are 4 months in tow the project which puts us a little over halfway till we are enjoying our new house. :-) hard to imagine!

Lots getting done. We are finishing the last couple of things before the sheet rock goes up. Done with chimney, windows, fireplace, electric, Heat air 2nd floor, Smarthome wiring, and plumbing

We have lots of siding and walls. You can finally see the rooms take there shape. The siding should be done soon. Hopefully! It has rained every week since we started to hang the siding. It has been very frustrating.
